Text Compare privacy policy

Text Compare compares two texts and copies or exports results.

Data and use

Typed, pasted or file-selected text and file names are processed in the workspace; texts, comparisons and undo history remain in memory until reload or closure. Chrome extension storage holds seven comparison preferences (wrapping, strictness, trailing whitespace, hidden lines, live comparison, layout and highlighting) in textCompare.v1 and prompt timestamps/responses in textCompareRatePrompt. Copied text, patches and HTML reports use the clipboard, downloads or printing.

Analytics

The welcome page and the hosted goodbye and rating pages carry analytics used to count installs and removals by country.

Feedback and reviews

1-3 stars open feedback with stars and interface language; removal may open an optional goodbye survey with extension version and interface language. Submitted comments reach the publisher through Telegram. 4-5 stars open Chrome Web Store reviews once configured.

Retention and deletion

Preferences and prompt records persist until updated or uninstalled. Uninstall removes extension storage, not saved output or records held by external services; manage output at its destination.

Your rights

Where applicable, you can learn how data is used, access, correct or delete it, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, complain to a supervisory authority and exercise California rights without discrimination.

Children

Use children's personal data only with appropriate authorisation.

Limited Use

Sale and unrelated use or sharing of user data are prohibited.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
